Collect Highlights 2023

Collect Art Fair at Somerset House is one of the most important events in craft and the arts, highlighting the exquisite craftsmanship and creativity of the industry today.

It is a must-see exhibition for not only buyers, but for anyone interested in art, craft, materiality and to feel wholly inspired by the array of different materials, techniques and processes.

We never miss attending the show, and always meet fascinating makers who inspire us. Many conversations of potential collaborations are had by harnessing the maker's skill-set and combining this with Rock & Soar’s sprinkling of creativity, which allows us to create new sculptural lighting installations for our set ranges, as well as on a project-by-project basis for the bespoke area of the business.

This year, we set out on a journey to understand the various innovative ways of using colour within materials, as well as gaining insight into the beautiful textures created within glass, metals and ceramics. Studies of material viscosity and allowing materials to move in their own way were a prominent theme throughout the show, giving nature its own freedom to create art, with a little help from us.

We are always keen to understand the use of colour within sculpture, and were thrilled to see artists becoming more and more experimentative with pigmentation as this is something close to our hearts. We’re excited that the industry is starting to push boundaries in colour-play, allowing for daring and bold approaches to interior style.
