CASE STUDY

Shell Pendants

The Story

A glistening statement lighting range was designed for a calm and elegant interior scheme, creating a sense of warmth and welcome in this private residential space in Marylebone.

Resembling the natural, soft, curved formations found in natural matter such as petals and shells, two bespoke lighting features for a luxury apartment in Marylebone, commissioned by Helen Green Design, has been created for the reception and dining areas. This piece features a minimalistic frame and glistening handmade glass adornments crafted at the Stourbridge Glass Quarter, UK.

While the initial narrative for this piece sits within a loose interpretation of nature, the clear glass textured shell pieces are a familiar shape in relation to other bespoke projects. They have become a favorite component within our designs due to their unique shape and sparkling surface that reflects and refracts the light from our minimalistic 2700K LED chips, which are integrated into the sleek antique brass-colored framework.

Two single-tier glass pendants nestle together above the dining room area, with one slightly higher than the other to lift the line of sight for a more expansive view of the interior setting. Adjacent to this area in the reception space, the two-tier pendant light showcases a larger ring directly above a smaller version, making use of the high ceilings and complementing the ornate plasterwork.

The power suspension cable and ceiling canopy, colour-matched to the ceiling, offer discreet assets to the design. This is where the drivers are housed for ease of access and to avoid work or damage to the listed building.
